Oriental Pagoda, Radwinter

We were commissioned to build a summerhouse in the style of an oriental pagoda.
It was important that the building blended in seamlessly with the client's established, mature garden. We used seasoned oak for framework and have seeded the roof with sedum which will create a green effect when grown. |

The Stable, Thaxted
|

Existing redundant stables were carefully stripped to reveal the old frame for repair.
Due to the extensive damage, new trusses had to be built and then craned into place. The building was fully insulated and re-clad with salvaged weather-board and re-roofed. |

Ceiling Boss Restoration

Replacement of beetle-damaged medieval carved ceiling bosses in Thaxted Parish Church.
The bosses were sketched, then new copies painstakingly carved in oak to restore this unique historical feature. The bosses were fixed back in place, each one scribed to the meeting point of the crown-moulded rafters. |
Vestry Screen

We were commissioned to build a vestry screen for Thaxted Parish Church as part of a wider restoration project.
Based on an existing 18th century design, the new screen was made completely from locally-grown oak. With book-matched panelling and carved foliage panels, the new vestry screen has been well received, with much positive feedback. |

Display Cabinets

We were commissioned to build a wall-mounted cabinet to display a collection of Moorcroft Ceramics.
This bespoke special order was designed to fit with and complement its barn conversion situation. The cabinet was constructed from oak with curved glass panels to best display the colourful ceramics. |
